參與打撈的陳興利說，越往下水流速度越快，艙室雜物包括門窗的損壞，易掛纏潛水員氧氣管及纜繩，河沙淤積很嚴重，一旦沉船下沉撞擊河床，河底淤泥就會整個泛起來，能見度很差，「就不是說看了，只能用手摸。」
